Two Texas physicians elected to AAFP positions
Two active TAFP members were elected to AAFP positions at the Academy’s 2014 National Conference of Special Constituencies in Kansas City, Missouri in May.
Emily Briggs, M.D., of New Braunfels, was elected as the new physician member for the AAFP Board of Directors, to be approved by the Congress of Delegates this fall. Briggs earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center and completed a residency at Christus Santa Rosa. She began her private practice in New Braunfels, Briggs Family Medicine, in 2009.
Christina Kelly, M.D., of Killeen, was elected as the 2015 Convener of AAFP’s National Conference of Special Constituencies. Kelly was awarded her medical degree by The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and completed a residency with Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington. She moved to Killeen when her husband was stationed at Fort Hood and is currently civilian faculty on base at the Family Medicine Residency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.
