HHSC introduces electronic learning tools
on EHR incentive program
HHSC presents computer-based learning tools to help explain the Texas Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program to eligible professionals and hospitals. The tools are interactive and self-guided with voice or closed-captioned narration.
These interactive modules – one for eligible professionals and one for eligible hospitals – are available to anyone interested in the Medicaid EHR incentive program. Each module includes several self-guided lessons on the various topics of the program. You choose the topic and follow the lesson on your computer. There’s no need to download anything to your computer; the two modules are internet-based. Just click the button and begin. You may stop whenever you want and start again when you have the time or when you need to learn about a particular focus area.
Recognizing that everyone learns differently, interactivity was a key component in the development of the e-learning tools. Text and graphics are animated to keep the visuals interesting. Viewers can roll their mouse over acronyms, and definitions “pop up” for clarification. Additional links and resources are available to those who would like to read more. And for those who like verbal explanation, the lessons are also narrated as you move along. The lessons are ADA-accessible. They are closed-captioned for the hearing impaired and all modules include voice narration.
Topics within the modules encompass all components of the Medicaid EHR incentive program. Lessons include: program overview, registration with CMS, enrollment with Texas Medicaid, attestation via the Texas portal, and an overview of meaningful use.
