Make Your Mark on family medicine
TAFP’s annual involvement campaign
The Texas Academy of Family Physicians is only as strong as its members. TAFP committee and commission members serve as the infrastructure of the Academy, developing policy and making the decisions that keep the organization at the forefront of the specialty. All TAFP members, especially medical students and residents, are welcome and encouraged to serve on committees, commissions, and sections.
Appointments to committees and commissions are made by the president-elect prior to Annual Session. Most active member appointments are for three-year terms and students and residents are one-year terms. Most meet twice a year – at TAFP’s Interim Session in the spring and at TAFP’s Annual Session in November. Members may serve on more than one committee or commission. Section meetings are open to any TAFP member to discuss interests or issues.
You can also use this form to let us know if you are interested in serving on the Member Assembly. It meets at least once a year and all members are welcome, but we’ll have voting representatives from TAFP’s local chapters. The 2018 Member Assembly will take place at Annual Session and Primary Care Summit on Friday, Nov. 9 in Arlington.
