Academy urges members to speak out on 30 percent reductions
AAFP has launched a targeted grass-roots campaign to prevent the enactment of two back-to-back Medicare physician payment cuts that would result in a nearly 30 percent reduction in the Medicare physician payment rate. The Academy sent Speak Out alerts to members encouraging them to contact their senators and representatives to voice opposition to the SGR cut and the Budget Control Act’s sequestration provision, both of which will go through in January. Texas Medicaid Wellness Program offers care management resources
to improve patient health
The Texas Medicaid Wellness Program partners with local family physicians to help certain high-cost, high-risk fee-for-service Medicaid patients better manage their health. Launched March 1, 2011, the program promotes patient self-management skills and targets those patients with chronic conditions who would benefit from additional support. TAFP advocates for physician inclusion in vaccine listing
Register your practice as a flu vaccine provider with HHS
TAFP and other physician organizations in Texas voiced concern for a tool the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provides to the public to locate influenza vaccine. Now, once physicians register their practices with the Flu Vaccine Finder application, they will be included in the listing along with freestanding and grocery store pharmacies.
