Texas Academy of Family Physicians Research Network
Overview
NAMCS is a National probability sample survey of visits to office-based physicians conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
SPARRC used the National data and analyzed it with their data to create comparison data for family physicians in Texas.
A total of 334 forms were received from the 12 physicians that returned survey materials.  There was a 25% attrition rate.
Recruitment
Letters were sent to all 55 SPARRC members
Follow up email sent to those who had not yet responded
16 physicians agreed to participate and were mailed Study materials
12 physicians completed the study and returned the research materials

Participating physicians recruited every 4th patient
30 surveys per physician
1 week time period to complete surveys
Return materials to TAFP for compilation

13.8% of SPARRC participants were diagnosed with Endocrine Diseases.
