TMHP Offers Introductory Workshops Before Rural, Border PCCM Medicaid Rollout

As a result of the legislation from the 2003 legislative session, Medicaid in 197 rural and border counties will be managed through the Primary Care Case Management model beginning on September 1, 2005. In advance of the rollout, the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission have announced a series of introductory workshops to educate physicians and other health care providers on the PCCM model in several locations across the state from June 21 to the end of July.
TMHP is encouraging all Medicaid providers in these areas to attend the workshops. You can register for a course on their Web site, where you’ll also find a brochure that includes a schedule and locations.
