Calling all TAFP members: Make Your Mark on Family Medicine

Help determine the direction of family medicine by signing up to serve on one of TAFP’s committee or commissions through the Make Your Mark form. The Texas Academy of Family Physicians relies on the strong foundation set by its members and the infrastructure formed by TAFP’s internal policymaking groups. On the committees and commissions, you will make decisions and recommendations that keep the organization at the forefront of the specialty. TAFP sent a direct e-mail to all members two weeks ago. You need only to complete one Make Your Mark form per year.
TAFP’s committees and commissions include:
- Bylaws Committee
- Finance Committee
- Nominating Committee
- Commission on Academic Affairs
- Commission on Annual Session and CME
- Commission on Health Care Services and Managed Care
- Commission on Legislative and Public Affairs
- Commission on Membership & Member Services
- Commission on Public Health, Clinical Affairs and Research
- Liaison Committee with Managed Care Companies
Full descriptions of the committees and commissions can be viewed online in the Membership section of TAFP’s Web site.
TAFP also has sections and task forces that address more specific interests and issues of the specialty. Sections and task forces are open to all members. Please check any section or task force that you are interested in so that TAFP can notify you of the scheduled meeting time before the TAFP Interim and Annual Sessions.

You may also indicate your interest in a leadership role as an officer, chair or director on the Board of Directors. In this case, you would be contacted by TAFP staff to further discuss your interest.
