Texas’ CMS Quality Improvement Organization wants to optimize your EHR

TMF Health Quality Institute, the state’s designated Medicare Quality Improvement Organization, is offering an EHR tune-up to physician practices as part of a three-year project sponsored by CMS. The organization has asked TAFP communications to help get the word out to family physicians. Check out their pitch below and if you’re interested, contact TMF to see if your practice qualifies for the free consultation.

From TMF Health Quality Institute:

If you’re ready to use your EHR as more than a documentation tool…

You may qualify for free on-site consulting services from TMF Health Quality Institute. Experienced EHR consultants from TMF will work with select primary care practices to assess care management workflow, optimize alerts and reminders, and monitor selected performance measures for disease management and preventive services. This service is offered as part of a three-year Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services quality improvement project.

This project offers multiple benefits for your practice:

  • Identify effective, efficient strategies to improve performance with your EHR.
  • Implement advanced care management processes and patient self-management.
  • Improve your documentation to facilitate successful reporting for PQRI and health plan pay-for-performance programs.
  • Learn the latest in health care quality improvement methodology.

As the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas, TMF has collaborated with hundreds of practices, and TMF consultants have extensive experience in health information technology as well as physician office quality improvement projects. Few organizations can offer this level of expertise, and if your practice is selected, there is no charge for these services.
