Sign up to serve as Physician of the Day at the Texas Capitol in 2009

Show legislators the value of family medicine firsthand by signing up to serve as a Physician of the Day during the upcoming 81st Texas Legislative Session. As a service to the Texas Legislature, TAFP members volunteer to staff the Capitol Health Clinic during legislative sessions, providing primary care to legislators, their staffs or Capitol visitors.

The 81st Legislative Session begins on Jan. 13, 2009 and meets Monday through Friday through May 29, 2009. Volunteer physicians work in the clinic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and see between 20 and 40 patients throughout the day.

TAFP has provided a physician in the Capitol for every legislative session and special sessions since 1971. Take part in this historic program; reserve your spot on the calendar by filling out the online form in the Physician of the Day section of TAFP’s Web site, www.tafp.org/advocacy/physicianOfTheDay.
