Take a tour of the Texas Medical Board using a new guide from the Texas Medical Liability Trust. TMLT published the manual, called “Understanding the Texas Medical Board — a resource for physicians,” to delineate the disciplinary and regulatory functions of the board and help physicians in their interactions with the organization. In the 47-page document, find information on the jurisdiction of the TMB; the complaint process; and documentation, CME and advertising requirements.
Download the manual by visiting the TMLT Web site, www.tmlt.org, and clicking on the blue “Understanding the Texas Medical Board” hyperlink in the first text section of the page.
Through a new online resource page on the TAFP Web site, Academy staff aims to keep members up-to-date on TMB rules and regulations. Peruse the new “Interacting with TMB” Web page to access recent articles published in TEXAS FAMILY PHYSICIAN magazine, QuickInfo eNewsletter and others.
