Physician enrollment now open in new health plan for children in foster care

Physicians may now enroll in the Health and Human Services Commission STAR Health program, a new health care program to improve services and better-coordinate care for children in foster care. The health plan is scheduled to roll out April 1.

All children in CPS foster care will have their medical, dental, vision and behavioral health care covered through the STAR Health Program for Children in Foster Care, administered by Superior HealthPlan Network. Program components will include an Internet-based Health Passport for each child, expedited enrollment, improved access to services, a medical home for every child, service coordinators and a 24-hour nurse hotline.

For more details, call (866) 439-2042 and ask for provider enrollment information, or visit www.hhs.state.tx.us/medicaid/FosterCare.shtml. Physicians may also enroll today by calling Superior HealthPlan Network at (866) 439-2042.
