Donate to TAFP’s annual service project, Physicians with Heart
posted 05.22.07
The Physicians with Heart Program, an annual service project occurring in conjunction with TAFP’s Annual Session and Scientific Assembly, brings together the resources of the membership to benefit a designated clinic in the Annual Session host city. The program is sponsored by the Section on Special Constituencies and supported by the TAFP Foundation.
This year collected donations will benefit the Gabbard Health Program at the Corpus Christi Metro Ministries. The Gabbard Clinic, designed to serve “those who have fallen through the cracks,” has provided free primary health care, medication, eye care and eyeglasses, and dental care to the chronically homeless and working poor of Corpus Christi since 1982. Several branches of the program provide other services outside of health care for this population. The Vineyard Employment Service brings job training and placement opportunities; the Rainbow House for Women and Children and the Rustic House for Men offer transitional, supportive housing and emergency shelter; Vineyard Services distributes clothing, shoes, jackets and blankets, and hygiene kits; and the Loaves & Fishes Free Cafeteria serves free meals each day.
Make your tax-deductible donation to the Gabbard Health Program through your Annual Session Registration form. Donations will also be collected at the Annual Session registration desk. Find more information on the Physicians with Heart page of the TAFP Web site.
