New loan repayment program application now available
DSHS has released the online application for the updated Physician Education Loan Repayment Program. The program will pay up to $160,000 to physicians who agree to practice for four years in primary care Health Professional Shortage Areas in an effort to increase access to care for the neediest populations. The deadline to apply currently stands as April 1 with the first cohort service period beginning July 1. HHSC seeks proposals for “health home” models in Medicaid
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has asked physicians to propose pilot projects to improve care for children enrolled in Medicaid. The projects must involve 5,000 patients and should provide comprehensive, coordinated care, much like the medical home concept.
