DSHS adds four shot doses to the pediatric combination series
Effective Jan. 1, 2009, the National Immunization Survey began including four doses of the pneumococcal shot, PCV7, into the combination series 4:3:1:3:3:1:4. This change will be reflected in surveys completed this calendar year and will be published in September 2010. DSHS recommends that physicians take every opportunity to ensure children are up-to-date with this vaccine.
