Report: Health insurance premiums outpace earnings for Texas workers
Insurance premiums rose almost 87 percent from 2000 to 2007 for working families in Texas, according to a recent study by Families USA. Median wages in Texas increased just 15 percent over the same period as health costs consume a growing portion of family budgets.

Medical Board seeks experts to assist in complaint-investigation process
The Texas Medical Board is currently seeking practicing, board-certified physicians to serve as expert panelists. These panelists evaluate medical records within the complaint-investigation process and occasionally testify in formal hearings. A small consulting fee is provided.
