The TAFP Foundation provides travel funding for family medicine residents to attend Academy meetings. Some of this funding is designated for TAFP resident leaders through scholarships, listed here. Texas Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students
March 2, 2013 | Austin, Texas
This conference is geared toward family medicine residents and medical students interested in family medicine, and features lectures in the morning, meetings in the afternoon, and a residency and procedures fair in the evening. It is held in conjunction with TAFP’s C. Frank Webber Lectureship and Interim Session. Interim Session is your chance to become involved in determining the Academy’s policies and direction. It is one of two annual meetings of the Academy’s Board of Directors and its committees and commissions, including the Section on Resident Physicians.

Annual Session & Scientific Assembly

TAFP’s Annual Session is your chance to become involved in determining the Academy’s policies and direction. It is one of two annual meetings of the Academy’s Board of Directors and its committees and commissions, including the Section on Medical Students. Annual Session also includes CME opportunities, social events, TAFP’s research poster competition, and more.

Annual Leadership Forum and National Conference of Special Constituencies
April 25-27, 2013 | Kansas City, Mo.
ALF is AAFP’s leadership development program for chapter leaders. NCSC is the AAFP’s forum to address member issues specific to women, minorities, new physicians, international medical graduates, and GLBT physicians. TAFP supports the travel of seven members to NCSC: a representative for each special constituency, one minority physician, and one third-year resident physician. TAFP supports the travel of two up-and-coming TAFP leaders to ALF, no experience required.

AAFP’s National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students
