Integrated
Health
Care
Initiative
The
Hogg
Foundation
for
Mental
Health
will
issue
a
Request
for
Proposals
(RFP)
on
Integrated
Health
Care
on
December
1,
2005.
In
integrated
health
care
models,
physical
and
mental
health
care
services
are
systematically
coordinated
to
increase
access
to
services,
reduce
stigma,
and
improve
treatment
outcomes
in
the
primary
care
setting.
Strong
research
has
demonstrated
the
effectiveness
of
these
models,
but
few
health
care
organizations
employ
them.
The
Hogg
Foundation
for
Mental
Health’s
initiative
will
focus
on
addressing
the
barriers
to
implementing
integrated
health
care
models
in
Texas.
For
the
next
three
years,
the
Foundation
will
invest
a
total
of
$1.5
million
a
year
in
the
Integrated
Health
Care
Initiative.
Eligible
organizations
will
include
Texas-based
public
and
private
non-profit
health
and
mental
health
providers.
Applications
will
be
due
February
15,
2006.
