Hotel Information

Registration to attend the C. Frank Webber Lectureship will open in mid-December. Onsite registration and retrieval of conference materials will be located in the lobby of the Hilton Austin Airport and will be open between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, March 13.

As an attendee, your general registration fee includes: A comprehensive course syllabus on CD and a printed book, admission to all general CME sessions, admission to breakfast and lunch, refreshment breaks, and an official name badge and lanyard.

All CFW attendees will receive a print syllabus and a CD syllabus. A limited number of power stations will be available for attendees with laptop computers. The Hilton Austin Airport is located on the grounds of the Austin Bergstrom International Airport and only two minutes away from the passenger terminal with free airport shuttle. It sits just two miles east of the intersection of Highway 183 and 71 and minutes away from downtown Austin including the Convention Center, State Capitol, and 6th Street Entertainment District.

Objectives

The 2009 C. Frank Webber Lectureship will provide health care professionals the opportunity to update their medical knowledge, enhance their clinical skills and support their professional development through a dynamic curriculum. Through a combination of plenary sessions and audience interaction, the C. Frank Webber Lectureship strives to develop and promote continuing medical education with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care.

The Texas Academy of Family Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

The Texas Academy of Family Physicians designates this educational activity for a maximum of 10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This symposium has been designated by TAFP for a maximum of 1 hour of credit in ethics and/or medical responsibility.

The TAFP adheres to the ACCME standards regarding industry support of CME and disclosure of faculty and commercial support relationships, if any, will be made known at the conference.

Application for CME credit will be filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

C. Frank Webber, M.D., the lectureship’s namesake, served as the chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and eventually dean of the school.
