Both the Texas Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students and the C. Frank Webber Lectureship on Friday, March 13, are FREE for students and residents to attend. Plus, when you apply for travel funding from the TAFP Foundation, it’s even easier on your pocketbook.
Each residency program is entitled to $500 in travel funding for the year. Each medical school has $300 in funding for three students to attend Interim Session ($900 per school). The Hilton Austin Airport is located on the grounds of the Austin Bergstrom International Airport and only two minutes away from the passenger terminal with free airport shuttle. It sits just two miles east of the intersection of Highway 183 and 71 and minutes away from downtown Austin, which features the Convention Center, State Capitol and 6th Street Entertainment District.
Rooms are currently available at the TAFP group rate of $124 single/double, plus state and local taxes. This rate is available until Feb. 19, 2009 or until all rooms in the block are reserved, whichever comes first. The TAFP business meetings are scheduled on March 13 - 14, 2009. These meetings are open to all members and we welcome and value students’ and residents’ participation.
