This is where it all begins! Exhibitors from the medical industry will be on-hand to show you the newest products and services available. The TAFP Foundation’s Board of Trustees will help serve breakfast while answering any questions you have about the Foundation’s activities.
Student, Resident and Community Physician Research Poster Competition
Friday, July 18 | 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Encourage family medicine research as students, residents and community physicians display the latest in research and teaching findings through poster panel displays in three categories: primary research, case report and evidence-based review. Awards, sponsored by the TAFP Foundation, will be given in various categories. Be sure to visit the poster exhibits all day on Friday!
Council of Past Presidents Lunch

TAFP’s past presidents will have a chance to reminisce and discuss the future of TAFP. This event is open to past presidents and their spouses only. Pre-registration is necessary.
The University of Texas Medical School at Houston Alumni Reception

Meet up with your fellow alumni at this special event just for local UTMS-H graduates. Find old classmates, mentor recent graduates or reminisce about your days on campus. More details and RSVP information to follow in an e-mail to all alumni.
Senior Medical Advisory Corps Breakfast

TAFP members who graduated from medical school before 1968, this complimentary breakfast is for you. Tickets for guests cost $25. Registration is necessary.
TAFP Business and Awards Lunch

Enjoy an engaging address by the TAFP President and help her applaud TAFP’s finest as this year’s honorees for the Physician of the Year, Physician Emeritus and other awards are revealed in the Plaza Ballroom on the third floor of the Westin Galleria. Members’ Reception

TAFP welcomes all new physicians, special constituency physicians, students and residents and 2008 TAFP award recipients to meet and mingle with the family medicine family. There is no cost to attend the reception but pre-registration is encouraged.
President’s Gala

Come one, come all to the greatest party in Houston, the 2008 President’s Gala. Under the big top at this jumbo circus-themed party, you can welcome your new ringmaster, Robert Youens, M.D., to the presidency and join other officers and fellow family physicians for a night of fabulous family fun featuring food, games and prizes. Dress is casual and the show will go on at the Westin Galleria. Buy your tickets on the Annual Session registration form.

The Exhibit Hall is where physicians have the opportunity to learn about new products and services in the health care field, interact with professionals in all facets of health care, and receive valuable information on the latest advancements in medicine. While in the Exhibit Hall, don’t forget to thank our exhibitors for supporting TAFP’s 59th Annual Session and Scientific Assembly. View a listing of the current 2008 exhibitors!
Also, be sure to head over to the Exhibit Hall for dessert and coffee breaks, and the TAFP Exhibit Hall Treasure Hunt. During the Treasure Hunt, find the items on your game board and you can win a fabulous prize!
TAFP Foundation exclusive offer
Join the Foundation in celebrating TAFP’s 60th Anniversary by donating at least $60 this year. You can donate along with your Annual Session registration or on $60 for Sixty donation page. Foundation Board members will be in the Exhibit Hall Friday morning serving breakfast, answering questions and thanking you for your support. Another way to support the Foundation is make a donation to upgrade your general session seating to VIP status. For a limited number of attendees, there will be special executive-style chairs in a reserved area of the CME classroom along with other perks. Choose this option on the Annual Session registration form.
Physicians With Heart annual service program
TAFP encourages attendees to participate in the annual service project by donating to the designated needy clinic in the host city. This year’s donations will benefit the San José Clinic Houston. Make your donation on the Annual Session registration form or bring your donation to the registration desk for TAFP staff to collect.
