Be
a Part of a Wonderful Family Practice Family!
THE
WACO FAMILY PRACTICE RESIDENCY PROGRAM IS
SEARCHING FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE TO
FILL THE POSITION OF PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The
residency is a respected community-based,
university-affiliated program that has comprehensively
trained family physicians since 1970. There are 36
residents (12/12/12) and a strong faculty of family
physician educators assisted by a full-time pediatric
faculty member, three full-time OB/Gyn faculty, and
approximately 80 volunteer physicians in the community.
The program is overseen by an independent not-for-profit
foundation, McLennan County Medical Education and
Research Foundation. Strong relationships are enjoyed
with the medical community and both local not-for-profit
hospitals. The program has a “leading-edge”
integrated electronic medical records system and
participates in chronic disease management care models.
Strong faculty, the presence of the Faculty Development
Center of Texas, and 3rd year students from UT
Southwestern provide unique academic influences. The
residency’s operation within the Heart of Texas
Community Health Center, Inc., a federally qualified
health center, provides multiple support benefits.
The
successful candidate will be board certified in Family
Practice and possess the enthusiasm, experience and
skills needed to lead a large family practice residency
program. The candidate will have or obtain a valid Texas
medical license. Appropriate Faculty appointment at UT
Southwestern Medical School is available.
